Terms of Service
Last Updated: 5 October 2026 · Effective immediately for new users and 30 days after posting for existing users
Please read these Terms carefully. They limit our liability, require you to take responsibility for your own safety and conduct, include an indemnity from you to us, and require most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court or in a class action (where the law allows). CONNECTRA connects you with strangers whose identity, age and intentions we do not and cannot verify. If you do not agree, do not use CONNECTRA.
Screenshots and screen recordings of anything on CONNECTRA are prohibited. Ragging, sexual content, exposing yourself and coercing anyone to change their religion lead to permanent removal and may be reported to the police.
1. Who we are and this agreement
CONNECTRA (the “Platform”) is an online service that randomly connects adults for text chat and voice/video calls, and lets small groups of adults talk together in group calls. It is operated from India by its developer(s), trading as GSSV (“we”, “us”, “our” or the “Operator”).
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”), together with our Privacy Policy and any rules shown inside the Platform, form a legally binding agreement between you and us. You accept them by ticking the agreement box when you sign in, or by accessing or using the Platform in any way. This agreement is an electronic record under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and does not require a physical or digital signature.
If you use the Platform on behalf of anyone else, you confirm you have authority to bind them; otherwise you accept these Terms personally.
2. Definitions
- “User” means any person who accesses or uses the Platform, including you.
- “User Content” means anything a User creates, sends, shows, says or shares on or through the Platform, including chat messages, voice, video, screen shares, images, profile information, custom questions, drawings, reactions, group call topics, titles, descriptions and keywords, reports and usernames.
- “Session” means a text chat or call between two Users, or a Group Call.
- “Group Call” means a voice/video call of up to four Users, started by a User either as a public call (listed for other Users) or as a private call (joined with its link).
- “Host” means the User who started a Group Call, or the participant who automatically takes over when the host leaves.
- “Share Connect” means the feature that, only when both Users agree, lets them see each other's profile and the details each has chosen to share.
- “Applicable Law” means all laws, rules and regulations that apply to you, to us or to the use of the Platform, in any country.
3. Eligibility (18+ only)
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher) and legally able to enter into a binding contract. The Platform is not for children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use it.
- You must not use the Platform if you have been previously removed from it, if you are prohibited from receiving services under the laws of India or of your country, if you are on any government sanctions list, or if you are a registered sex offender or have been convicted of a sexual or violent offence.
- By using the Platform you represent and warrant that all of the above is true. We may (but are not obliged to) ask for proof of age at any time and suspend or remove any account we reasonably believe belongs to a minor or an ineligible person.
- Parents and guardians: if you believe a minor is using the Platform, contact us immediately at ping.connectra@gmail.com and we will act on it.
4. What CONNECTRA is, and what it is not
- CONNECTRA is a technology platform that connects Users at random. We do not choose who you meet (other than applying the matching preferences you set, or the Group Call you choose to join), and we do not screen, verify, vet, background-check or endorse any User, their identity, age, statements, profile, intentions or conduct.
- Calls start with voices only. Each User turns their own camera and microphone on or off whenever they choose (and in a Group Call, their screen sharing too), and the other participants see and hear whatever that User turns on. Audio, video and screen shares travel directly between the participants' devices (or through an encrypted relay) and are not recorded or stored by us. Text messages are passed on in real time and are not stored by us. As a result, we generally cannot see or retrieve what was said or shown in a Session.
- The Platform is for social connection and entertainment only. It is not a dating agency, marriage bureau, counselling, medical, legal, financial or emergency service, and nothing on it is professional advice.
- The Platform is provided free of charge. There are no paid features, prizes, wagers or gambling of any kind.
5. Assumption of risk and your safety
You understand and agree that talking to strangers carries inherent risks, including exposure to offensive, explicit, false or harmful content; people who lie about who they are; scams, fraud and phishing; harassment, bullying, threats or blackmail (including “sextortion”); being recorded or screenshotted without your consent; and people trying to move the conversation to other apps or to meet in person.
You voluntarily assume all of these risks. You are solely responsible for your own safety and for your decisions and interactions, online and offline. In particular, you agree to:
- never share passwords, one-time codes, bank or card details, government ID numbers, your home or work address, or anything you would not want made public;
- never send money, gifts or cryptocurrency to anyone you met on the Platform;
- never do or show anything on camera you would not want recorded and shared, and remember that the other person may turn their camera on at any time;
- use “Next” or leave the call, block and report as soon as you feel uncomfortable, and contact the police if you are threatened or in danger;
- take full responsibility for any decision to share contact details, continue contact elsewhere, or meet anyone in person. If you choose to meet, you do so entirely at your own risk.
Any safety tips we provide are for general guidance only; following them does not guarantee your safety.
6. Your account
- You sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for keeping that account secure and for all activity under your account, whether or not authorised by you. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You may hold only one account. Information you give us must be true, accurate and yours. Usernames must not impersonate others, infringe anyone's rights or be offensive; we may reclaim or change any username.
- You may stop using the Platform at any time. You can delete your account yourself from your profile page (“Delete account”), after confirming twice, or ask us to do it by emailing us from the address linked to your account. Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone; our Privacy Policy explains what is deleted and what is kept.
7. Your content and licence to us
- You own your User Content, and you are solely responsible for it and for the consequences of sharing it. We do not endorse any User Content and are not responsible for it.
- You represent and warrant that you have all rights, consents and permissions needed for your User Content (including consent of every identifiable person in any photo), and that it does not break these Terms or any law.
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable (to our service providers only) licence to host, store, transmit, display, reproduce, adapt (for technical formatting, such as resizing images) and process your User Content, solely to operate, secure, moderate and improve the Platform and to comply with law. This licence ends when your content is deleted, except where we must keep it for legal, safety or dispute reasons as described in our Privacy Policy.
- We may, but are not obliged to, review, block, remove or refuse any User Content at any time and for any reason, without notice.
8. Community rules: prohibited conduct, ragging and religious conversion
You must not use the Platform to, or attempt to:
- involve minors in any way, including any content that sexualises, exploits or endangers a child. We have zero tolerance: such conduct results in permanent removal and will be reported to law enforcement and to the relevant authorities (including, where applicable, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and Indian authorities under the POCSO Act, 2012);
- show, send or request nudity, sexual acts or sexually explicit material, expose any intimate part of your body, perform any sexual act on camera, or engage in any sexual conduct, solicitation or prostitution;
- harass, bully, stalk, threaten, intimidate, blackmail, extort, dox or abuse anyone, or encourage violence, self-harm or suicide;
- rag anyone, online or offline, in any form described in Section 8A, including seniors bullying or intimidating juniors, forcing or pressuring anyone to do anything humiliating, degrading or unsafe on camera, and group “roasting”, mocking or ganging up on a person in a Group Call;
- post or promote hate speech or content that demeans people based on race, caste, ethnicity, religion, nationality, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other protected characteristic;
- share content that is obscene, defamatory, invasive of privacy, deceptive, or that threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order, or that is otherwise unlawful (including content prohibited under Rule 3(1)(b) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021);
- take a screenshot or screen recording of, or otherwise capture, any part of a Session or any User's image, video, voice, messages or information, by any means, whether or not the other User agrees (see Section 9);
- use a Group Call topic, title, description or keywords, your screen share, or host or voting controls to break these rules, or to harass, exclude or humiliate anyone;
- impersonate any person, misrepresent your age, identity or affiliation, or use a fake or stolen profile photo;
- scam, defraud, phish, spam, advertise, sell, solicit money or recruit Users for any commercial, political or religious purpose;
- pressure, lure, induce, threaten or coerce anyone to change their religion, or offer money, gifts, employment, marriage or any other benefit for doing so, or insult or ridicule anyone's religion or belief (see Section 8B);
- share malware, harmful links, or anyone else's personal or confidential information;
- infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other right;
- use bots, scripts, scrapers or automation; reverse engineer, probe, overload, hack or interfere with the Platform or its security; bypass any block, ban, limit or safety feature; or create accounts to evade enforcement;
- use the Platform in breach of any Applicable Law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, and the laws of your own country.
Breaking these rules may lead to warnings, content removal, loss of features, suspension, permanent removal, and reporting to law enforcement, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.
8A. Ragging, bullying and humiliation are banned
CONNECTRA has zero tolerance for ragging. “Ragging” means any conduct, by words spoken or written, gestures or acts, that teases, treats rudely, harasses, intimidates, humiliates or embarrasses another person, or makes them do something they would not do willingly, including where the person doing it claims seniority of any kind. Without limitation, the following are prohibited on every part of the Platform, including chats, video calls, Group Calls and games:
- online ragging of any person, whether or not you know them outside CONNECTRA;
- seniors bullying juniors, or anyone using age, seniority, popularity or group size to intimidate, order around or demean another person;
- forcing, daring or pressuring anyone to do anything humiliating, degrading, sexual or unsafe on camera, including through Truth or Dare or any other game, a group dare or a threat to expose, exclude or shame them;
- group “roasting”, mocking, name-calling or ganging up on a person in a Group Call, and using host or voting controls to target, isolate or humiliate someone.
Ragging is a punishable offence in India under the UGC (Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions) Regulations, 2009, State anti-ragging laws and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Accounts involved in ragging will be permanently removed, and we may preserve evidence and report the matter to the police, the educational institution concerned and the National Anti-Ragging Helpline. If you are being ragged, leave the conversation, block and report the person, and call the National Anti-Ragging Helpline on 1800-180-5522 (toll-free, antiragging.in) or the cybercrime helpline 1930.
8B. Religious conversion
You may talk about faith respectfully, but you must not use CONNECTRA to pressure, lure, induce, threaten, deceive or coerce any person to change their religion, or to offer money, gifts, jobs, marriage, help or any other benefit in return for conversion. Several Indian States have enacted anti-conversion (freedom of religion) laws that make unlawful conversion a criminal offence, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 punishes deliberately outraging religious feelings and promoting enmity between groups. We will remove accounts that break this rule and may report them to the authorities.
9. Screenshots and screen recording are prohibited
- You must not take screenshots or screen recordings on CONNECTRA. This means you must not capture, record, photograph, film, stream, save, copy, download or distribute any part of a Session, or any other User's image, video, voice, messages, profile or information, by any means, including your device's screenshot or recording tools, another app, browser extension or camera, or a second device. This applies whether or not the other User agrees, and to text chats, video calls, Group Calls and games alike.
- Our protective measures. To discourage capture, CONNECTRA shows a faint watermark containing the viewer's own name and an account code over other people's video and messages, hides that content when the page is not on screen or a screenshot shortcut is pressed, blocks printing, saving and picture-in-picture, and blurs a stranger's video until the viewer chooses to see it. A captured image or recording can therefore be traced to the account that made it. These measures run on your own device. They cannot technically stop every form of capture, and their presence does not make capture lawful or permitted.
- Consequences. Any capture is a serious breach of these Terms and will lead to permanent removal. It may also be a criminal offence, including under Sections 66E, 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and Section 77 (voyeurism) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. We will preserve relevant records and cooperate with the police and courts.
- Assume anything can still be captured. We are not responsible for captures made in breach of this Section. Never say or show anything you would not want shared. In a Group Call, everything you say, show or share is seen and heard by everyone in the call.
- If someone captured or shared your images or information, report it to us immediately (subject line “Urgent”) and to the police. In India you may also use the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in, helpline 1930).
10. Moderation, reports and enforcement
- We use a mix of automated tools (for example, a profanity filter on chat, custom questions, and Group Call topics, titles, descriptions and keywords) and User reports. When several different Users report the same person within a short period, that account may be automatically suspended while we review it. Automated tools are imperfect and may miss content or act on content by mistake.
- We have no obligation to monitor Users or Sessions and do not undertake to do so. Any moderation we choose to do does not make us responsible for User Content or conduct, and does not create any duty of care beyond what Applicable Law strictly requires.
- Decisions about enforcement are at our reasonable discretion. Where the law requires it (for example, the EU Digital Services Act), we will give a statement of reasons and you may ask us to review a decision by writing to us within six months.
- False, malicious or abusive reports are themselves a breach of these Terms.
If someone exposes themselves to you, or shows sexual content
A stranger's video on CONNECTRA starts blurred, and stays blurred until you choose “Show video”. You can tap “Blur” to hide it again at any moment. If someone exposes themselves, performs a sexual act or shows sexual or abusive content:
- End the call at once (tap Next or Leave). You do not need to keep watching to report it.
- Report the person from the shield button or, in a Group Call, from the ··· menu on their tile, choosing “Nudity or sexual content”.
- Block them, so they can never be matched with you again (reporting also blocks).
- Email our Grievance Officer at ping.connectra@gmail.com with the subject line “Urgent”, saying roughly when it happened and in which mode. Urgent complaints about sexual content are acted on within 24 hours.
- Contact the cybercrime helpline on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in. If you are in danger, dial 112.
Do not take a screenshot or recording as “proof”: capturing sexual content can itself be an offence, and your report together with our own records is enough for us to act. Exposing oneself, sexual harassment and transmitting sexually explicit material are offences under, among others, Sections 75 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and Sections 67 and 67A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, and any such content involving a child is reported to the authorities under Section 67B of that Act and the POCSO Act, 2012.
11. Intermediary status and legal notices
We act as an intermediary within the meaning of Section 2(1)(w) of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We do not initiate transmissions, select their receivers, or select or modify the information in them, and we claim the protections available to intermediaries under Section 79 of that Act and under equivalent laws elsewhere (including the EU Digital Services Act, Section 230 of the US Communications Decency Act, and the UK Online Safety Act framework, to the extent they apply). We will act on unlawful content when we obtain actual knowledge of it through a court order or a notice from an appropriate government agency, or through a valid complaint, in line with Applicable Law.
12. Share Connect, contacts and meeting people
- Your profile and chosen details are revealed only through a mutual Share Connect, an accepted request, or username search as allowed by your “Who can find me” setting. You decide what to switch on for sharing, and you are solely responsible for what you choose to share.
- Once information is shared, the other User can keep it; we cannot make them forget it, and removing a connect or deleting your account does not recall information they already saw or copied.
- Contact, conversations or meetings that continue outside the Platform are entirely outside our control and responsibility.
13. Group calls
- How they work. Any User can start a Group Call for up to four people. A public call is listed, with its topic, description, keywords and language, to other signed-in Users browsing group calls until it ends. A private call is never listed; anyone who has its link can join while the call has room and is not locked. Share a private link only with people you trust: we cannot control who they pass it on to.
- Names and what others see. Everyone in a Group Call appears under an anonymous name, such as Alpha or Beta. Your username and profile are not shown, but everyone in the call sees and hears whatever you choose to share: your voice, video, screen, chat messages and reactions. You decide whether your camera, microphone and screen sharing are on, before and during the call.
- Hosts. The User who starts a Group Call is its Host. If the Host leaves, another participant automatically becomes Host. A Host can remove a participant (who then cannot rejoin that call), lock the call, change how many people may join, replace the link of a private call, and end the call for everyone. Hosts must use these controls fairly and must not use them to harass, embarrass or single out anyone. Group “roasting” and ganging up on a participant are ragging and are prohibited (Section 8A).
- Votes in public calls. In a public call, participants can vote to remove someone. When a majority of the other participants agree, that person is removed and cannot rejoin that call.
- Decisions by Users. Removals, locks and votes are decided by Users, not by us. We do not review them, we are not responsible for them, and being removed from a Group Call is not an enforcement action by us. If you believe a Host or a vote is being used to harass you, leave the call and report it.
- Limits. You can be in one Group Call at a time, and not while you are in a one-to-one chat or call. You can start up to three Group Calls per hour. A Group Call ends when the Host ends it, when everyone has left, or after six hours. Group chat messages are limited in length and in how often they can be sent.
- Your responsibility. The topic, title, description and keywords you write for a Group Call, and anything you say, show or share in it (including your screen), are your User Content and must follow Section 8. Do not share your screen while it shows anyone's personal information, private messages, passwords or content you have no right to share.
- Share Connect and safety in groups. Share Connect works between two people in a Group Call, and nobody else in the call is told. Blocking or reporting someone in a Group Call hides them from you for the rest of the call; a report also blocks them. A person you have blocked, or who has blocked you, cannot join a Group Call you are in, and you cannot join one they are in.
14. Games and other features
In-call games, icebreakers, interest matching, subtitles and similar features are provided for fun and convenience only, “as is”. In Group Calls, some games can be played by two to four players while other participants watch. Game results, streaks and statistics have no monetary value and cannot be exchanged for anything. Truth-or-Dare prompts are suggestions only: never do anything unsafe, illegal, sexual or that you are uncomfortable with, and you alone are responsible for what you choose to say or do. Using a dare or any game to pressure, humiliate or rag another player is prohibited (Section 8A), and you may refuse any dare or leave a game at any time. Subtitles and translations are produced automatically by your or the other User's device, may be wrong, and must not be relied on.
15. Third-party services
The Platform relies on services provided by others (for example Google sign-in and analytics, our hosting, database and network-relay providers, and your browser and device). We are not responsible for third-party services, websites or links, their availability, security, terms or privacy practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
16. Our intellectual property
The Platform, including its software, design, text, graphics, games, logos and the name “CONNECTRA”, is owned by or licensed to the Operator and protected by the Copyright Act, 1957, the Trade Marks Act, 1999 and international treaties. We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose under these Terms. Nothing else is licensed to you. Open-source components are licensed under their own licences. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
17. Copyright and IP complaints
If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright or other rights, email ping.connectra@gmail.com with: your contact details; a description of the work and the content you say infringes it and where it appears; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for them; and your physical or electronic signature. We will respond in line with the Copyright Act, 1957 and, where applicable, the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Repeat infringers will be removed.
18. Disclaimer of warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE PLATFORM AND EVERYTHING ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, SECURITY, OR THAT THE PLATFORM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ANY USER IS WHO THEY CLAIM TO BE. WE MAKE NO WARRANTY ABOUT THE CONDUCT, IDENTITY, AGE, INTENTIONS OR CONTENT OF ANY USER. NO ADVICE OR INFORMATION, WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN, CREATES ANY WARRANTY NOT EXPRESSLY STATED IN THESE TERMS.
19. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- THE OPERATOR, ITS DEVELOPERS, OWNERS, CONTRIBUTORS, AFFILIATES, SERVICE PROVIDERS AND LICENSORS (THE “PROTECTED PARTIES”) WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, REPUTATION OR OPPORTUNITY, OR FOR EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, STATUTE OR OTHERWISE), EVEN IF ADVISED OF THEIR POSSIBILITY;
- THE PROTECTED PARTIES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONDUCT, CONTENT, STATEMENT, OMISSION OR COMMUNICATION OF ANY USER OR THIRD PARTY, ONLINE OR OFFLINE, ANY DECISION BY A GROUP CALL HOST OR A VOTE OF OTHER USERS, INCLUDING ANY HARASSMENT, FRAUD, RECORDING, DISTRIBUTION OF YOUR CONTENT, PHYSICAL HARM, OR ANY MEETING BETWEEN USERS, OR FOR ANY UNAUTHORISED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA OR TRANSMISSIONS;
- THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF THE PROTECTED PARTIES FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE PLATFORM OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM (THE PLATFORM IS FREE, SO THIS IS ORDINARILY ZERO) OR (B) INDIAN RUPEES ONE THOUSAND (₹1,000).
These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose, and they are an essential basis of the bargain between you and us: we could not offer the Platform free of charge without them. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Applicable Law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence, for fraud, or for our wilful misconduct; in those cases our liability is limited only to the extent the law permits.
20. Indemnity
To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Protected Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, proceedings, losses, damages, fines, penalties, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use or misuse of the Platform; (b) your User Content; (c) your breach of these Terms or of any Applicable Law; (d) your violation of any right of another person, including privacy, publicity and intellectual-property rights; and (e) your interactions with any other User, online or offline. We may take exclusive control of the defence of any matter at your expense, and you will cooperate with us.
21. Release
To the fullest extent permitted by Applicable Law, you release the Protected Parties from all claims, demands and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or connected with any dispute between you and another User or any third party. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code §1542, which says: “A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.” You waive any similar law in any other jurisdiction.
22. Suspension and termination
- We may suspend, restrict or terminate your access, remove your content or delete your account at any time, with or without notice or reason, including for breach of these Terms, reports from other Users, legal or regulatory reasons, risk to Users or to the Platform, or prolonged inactivity. We may also discontinue the Platform entirely.
- You are not entitled to any compensation for suspension, termination or discontinuation.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 7, 9, 12 and 16 to 27) will survive.
23. Changes to the service and these Terms
We may change, suspend or remove any part of the Platform at any time. We may update these Terms; we will change the “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, give reasonable notice on the Platform. Changes take effect 30 days after posting for existing Users (or immediately where required by law or for safety). By continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect, you accept them; if you do not agree, you must stop using the Platform.
As required by Rule 3(1)(f) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we remind every User of these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our community rules at least once every year, by a notice shown in the app when you sign in, and we inform you that breaking them may lead to immediate suspension or removal of your account and removal of non-compliant content.
24. Governing law and disputes
- Governing law. These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Platform are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
- Informal resolution first. Before starting any proceeding, you agree to contact us at ping.connectra@gmail.com and try in good faith to resolve the dispute for at least 30 days.
- Arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally will be finally resolved by binding arbitration by a sole arbitrator appointed in accordance with the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration is India, the proceedings may be conducted online, and the language is English. Judgment on the award may be entered in any competent court.
- Individual claims only. To the extent permitted by Applicable Law, disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis; you waive any right to bring or join a class, collective, consolidated or representative action or arbitration.
- Exceptions. Either party may seek urgent interim or injunctive relief from a competent court, and you may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court or a consumer forum where the law permits. Subject to arbitration, the courts in India with jurisdiction over the Operator's place of residence have exclusive jurisdiction.
- Time limit. To the extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought within one (1) year after it arises, or it is permanently barred.
- Mandatory consumer rights. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom or any other country whose laws give you rights that cannot be removed by contract (such as the right to bring proceedings in your home courts or the protection of your local consumer law), nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.
25. Grievance redressal
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, complaints about content, conduct, these Terms or your personal data may be sent to our Grievance Officer:
- Name: Gampa Sai Sasivardhan
- Designation: Grievance Officer, CONNECTRA (GSSV)
- Email: ping.connectra@gmail.com, with the subject line “Grievance”, or “Urgent” for nudity or sexual content, ragging, threats, or any risk to a child
- Timelines: we acknowledge every complaint within 24 hours and resolve it within 15 days of receipt. Complaints about content that exposes a person's private area, shows them in full or partial nudity or in a sexual act, or impersonates them, are acted on within 24 hours of receipt, as Rule 3(2)(b) of the IT Rules, 2021 requires.
- If you are not satisfied with the resolution, you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee constituted under Rule 3A of those Rules, or approach a competent court.
26. Emergencies and law enforcement
CONNECTRA is not an emergency service. If you or anyone else is in danger, contact local emergency services immediately. In India: emergency 112, cybercrime 1930 (cybercrime.gov.in), and the National Anti-Ragging Helpline 1800-180-5522 (toll-free). We may preserve and disclose information to law enforcement, courts or government authorities when we believe in good faith it is required by law or necessary to prevent harm, investigate illegal activity, or protect the rights and safety of Users, the public or the Operator.
27. General terms
- Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Platform and replace any earlier agreements.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the rest of these Terms will remain in full force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights or obligations. We may assign ours, including in connection with a transfer of the Platform.
- Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages of third-party services, internet failures, natural disasters, epidemics, war, government action or cyber-attacks.
- Relationship. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, agency, employment or fiduciary relationship.
- Export and sanctions. You will comply with all applicable export-control and sanctions laws.
- Language. If these Terms are translated, the English version prevails.
- Notices. We may give you notices on the Platform or by email to the address linked to your account.
